ADRIAN DURHAM: Manchester City must dominate in the Champions League as well as the Premier League to satisfy Sheikh Mansour's aims

For years and years Manchester City fans knew nothing about trophies. Odd-shaped silver things that never came anywhere near Maine Road. And then Shiekh Mansour arrived with billions of pounds and he was ready to pump endless stacks of cash into the club. Good luck to him and his club I say. The conversation has moved on to how much it really means to pull on a Germany shirt. ‘It’s the most important thing for us, without doubt,’ he says. ‘Look at the players who have pulled on that jersey throughout history. Manchester United would have received £159.5m if the Premier League split their money more evenly based on UK audience. As it was, United picked up £89.1m, more than £70m less.
