Tottenham will use defensive stats to decide whether to pursue Victor Wanyama transfer



Tottenham's interest in Victor Wanyama will be compounded by statistics collated from his defensive midfield performances at Southampton. Mauricio Pochettino is looking at bringing in the big Kenyan over the summer after utilising him as a defensive screen while at St Mary’s. Tottenham had the ninth best defensive record in the Premier League and the new coach recognises that will have to improve if he is to make an impression on the Champions League qualifying places.
